Developmental psychologists have long recognized the importance of play in the development of children's healthy mental atitudes toward life. During play time children role play as they visualise adults would interact and internalize elements of society subconsoiusly programming behavior pattrens that will affect them in their future. The toys during play present messages about gender, adult roles, and values that children internalize. Children's toys are a strong inluence in the development of a child's self-concept a way of preparing for the future by pretending, practicing today.
The Barbie doll the icon of female beauty and the American dream that touches nearly every American girl's life and has been with us for over 4 decades, is the fundamental cause for many mental illneases diagnosed in young adult women today. Barbie dolls reflect a highly sexualized image and circumscribe girls' play by emphasizing prescribed roles and patterns of interaction. And yet the shocking thing about these dolls that is instantly made apparent to the child's mind is when they first examine the nude form perfect in every detail except those that matter most the sex organs or lack there of. Is the child to infer from the lack of genitalia on the doll that the child themselves is in some way imperfect for possesing these attributes seemingly juxtaposed to those missing from the hard smooth plastic body of their favorite plaything? And why is it that so many dolls were manufactured with pliable lower limbs crafted of a much softer vinyl plastic than the rest of the dolls body. The feet being turned in line with the legs in such manner as to represent a sort of phallus a pair of very thin tapering soft vinyl phallus attached with the perfect idealized woman form. Is it any wonder so many lesbians were the product of this brain washing and I do not use the term lightly here for this is a powerful message being transmitted to these young minds. The medical literature of the late 1970s reported a veritable explosion of lesbians one can see the obvious connection between the child's play thing and the unwarranted amount of homosexual women seeking the pleasure of others like themselves never fully satisfying that be it concious or unconcious desire for the perfect partner, that living doll, or idealic Barbie lover.
DOLL PLAY AND BARBIE EXPRESSIONISM:
During the last week of September 2006 Fred Wilder began to upload several images he had created of dolls from his collection only to be meet with resistance from myspace.com who finding the images objectionable deleted 9 of them from the server and sent an email stating myspace does not condon pornographic material.

DOLL PLAY
Dolls have become an important element in my artwork and some times I just like to take my dolls out for play whenever I need to feel pretty. I have a small collection of slender pale plastic women that some how over time have lost all of their clothes much like my assortment of former giRl friends that now are only memories of fondling and caressing recalled in plastic playthings. So I don't know why myspace felt it at all necessary to censor my photos I had uploaded to share my past time with others or why they sent me that email about profanity and nudity not being allowed on myspace. How dare they call my dolls anything but beautiful with their smooth perfect forms and long gracious lines they never talk back or get angry they have never stolen my money or anything from me only given me their undying love and attention. Nudity? How is she nude sans genitalia? Sure she has bumps in all the right places but those are bumps on her chest not breasts. She did not have areola swollen with lust nor nipples thick and taught posing for my camera just beige featureless bumps beneath her big uncombed natural synthetic blonde hair the way God and the Mattel Corporation had intended. Now she has photomechop pasties in the design of two Touch Tone telephones that ring out somebody call me please call me and I'll show you a good time but no one ever calls that doll of mine for she has burnt too many bridges told too many lies and never told you what she found out at the clinic the week before and now its too late for you to take it all back. I hate you, I hate you, you bitch what did you do to me! But that was so many years ago now all is forgiven and I've taken the cure and she is only my toy giRl friend now with rock hard bumps for breasts so what's all the fuss?
